While this could describe many questionable impulse book or clothing purchases over the years I think his inspiration refers to something on another level. For example if you are one of those that purchased a first generation iPad because you wanted to see what it was like and now it's a paperweight.
I'm trying to think of something along those lines.
The closest thing to the description would currently be my suits! I really wanted them for interviews but I've been told you don't need them! I convinced myself after university that I should get two suits as staples in my closet for interviews. I also wanted to feel grown-up. They look so good on me. haha. So now I'm just waiting for a fancy occasion. haha.
Anyways... I know I won't regret this Nexus 7 purchase. I am considering selling part of my soul or one of my suits. haha.
